Summary: TierPoint is expanding its data centre in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park in partnership with Compass Datacenters. The $20m expansion will add an additional 24k sqft of raised floor and 9k sqft of office and support space, tripling the size of the original footprint. The expansion will bring on an additional 1.2MW of critical power initially, with the ability to expand to 3.6MW. TierPoint expects the expansion to be completed in early 2020. Compass has been working with TierPoint dating back to the latter’s acquisition of the Windstream managed hosting and colocation business.
